Welcome to Shenley SK8 we cannot wait for you to join us at this exciting festive event. We will be doing our upmost to ensure your visit is a pleasurable one.  Please take a few moments to have a look at the procedures we have put in place to keep the public safe during these extraordinary times.

Our 240 square metre ice rink has the capacity to hold 90 skaters, however for our guests safety and maximum enjoyment sessions will be limited to a 6o skaters.

All bookings must be made online via our website prior to any admittance to Shenley SK8. All contact details will be taken for your safety and held on file for 28 days for NHS track and trace purposes. Bookings cannot be made in person.

The maximum number of people per booking is 6 in accordance with current government guidelines; this will be monitored and subject to change alongside the government guidelines at the time of booking. 

For school groups please contact us directly to discuss your booking requirements.

Bookings are in 1 hour slots of which approximately 45 minutes will be skating time. Please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your allocated booking. Please ensure you do not arrive late to enable the maximum amount of enjoyment on the ice. Included in your booking is a 1 hour slot following your skate to enjoy our fabulous Winter Market. Please be aware so everyone gets the upmost enjoyment from the Winter Market you be asked to depart the area at your allocated time so we can maintain social distancing and therefore everyone's safety.

Anyone under the age of 11 must be accompanied by a skating adult on the ice at all times. All bookings for participants between the ages of 12-15 must be accompanied by at least 1 adult spectator. 

Before you enter the grounds, your temperature will be taken; if you are found to have an elevated temperature no access will be allowed.

Please allow at least 2 metres between you and other groups when queuing to enter Shenley SK8; spacing will be clearly marked in accordance with government guidelines.

Please do not bring any personal belongings onto the ice, there will be no lockers for you to store bags, so please ensure you only bring essential items into Shenley SK8.

Should you require assistance in accessing the rink please let a member of the team know, they will be happy to help.

Hand sanitiser stations will be clearly marked at entrance of the changing area, ice rink, throughout the market and at the exit please ensure you make use of them. All guests will be required to sanitise their hands upon entry to the Shenley SK8 area. 

Only skaters will be allowed inside the changing room all other guests are welcome to watch from the designated viewing area.

We will provide you with a disposable bag to place your shoes in, when returning your shoes please dispose of the bag in the bins provided.

Once on the ice please keep moving in an anti-clockwise direction, there will be Marshalls on the ice to assist you should you need help; though due to the current situation their distance from participants will be maintained. Please therefore ensure if you are new to ice staking a member of your party stays close at all times.

Please listen out for any announcements and follow these as directed.

Anyone not following the guidelines in place, acting in a dangerous manner to themselves or others or felt to be under the influence of alcohol / drugs will be removed from the ice. We reserve the right to remove anyone from the Shenley SK8 area who is not abiding by the guidelines set out for everyone's safety.

Please do not climb or sit on the barriers.

Please avoid skating at speed or in a way that may endanger others, anyone found doing so will be asked to leave the ice.

Please do not chip, throw or spray the ice

Skating in a chain of more than two people is strictly prohibited.

After each session all skates, handrails and skating aids will be sanitated using a product suitable to kill coronavirus before the next session begins so please bear with us.

All Shenley SK8 staff will be wearing mask and ensuring they clean / sanitise their hands at regular intervals.

Remember to wrap up warm, we recommend wearing gloves while skating and please feel free to wear a mask.
